About

Angela Myers (she/her)

Deepening and nurturing our inner and outer relationship with the natural world moves Angela towards the work of collective impact and its intersection with equitable outdoor access. For five years, Angela directed and evaluated Nature Kids/Jóvenes de la Naturaleza, a community-scale collective impact effort focused on equitable access to the outdoors.

She currently lives on the unceded lands of the Nuchu (Utes), Abáachi (Jicarilla Apaches), Numunu (Comanches), Ka’igwu (Kiowas), InunaIna (Arapahoe), Tsistsistas (Cheyenne), Diné (Navajo Nation), and Pueblo People in what has been colonized as the San Luis Valley in the high mountain desert of south-central Colorado, where she is building an off-grid sustainable home called an “earthship” and coming into deep relationship with place.

Angela is the author of a book of poetry, SPIRIT: A Dance of Poetry, is a sanctioned and initiated teacher of ceremonial arts with The Heart of The Healer Mystery School, and a loving companion with her career-changed guide dog, Wyclef. Angela is fully fluent in Spanish.

Aujanee Young (she/her)

Aujanee works in the colonized ancestral lands of the Mascogee peoples. She is dedicated to supporting people to achieve their best self and lives through liberatory research, education and connections to nature. She has over 11 years of experience working in non-profit and public sectors. In both leadership and support roles, she has worked to center and uplift the perspectives of individuals and communities who have been perpetually marginalized in education spaces, formal, informal, and non-formal. Her value and perspectives on life-long learning models are evident in her endeavors such as curriculum development and design, education research, evaluation and instruction.

Jenny Mulholland-Beahrs (she/her)

Jenny’s life was restored by the healing powers of nature and love. She has a deep-seated commitment to social and environmental justice and active engagement in anti-racist and pro-justice practices.

Her projects have included the founding of the Richmond Outdoors Coalition  (a collective impact initiative to create pathways of multiple, repeat and reinforcing outdoor experiences in Richmond, CA), advocacy for state and federal funding for outdoor access in park poor communities, nature and health partnerships, culturally relevant and inclusive outdoor programming, gatherings and trainings, and using schoolyards and parks as a strategy for supporting schools to open safely during COVID-19 (in partnership with the COVID-19 Outdoor Learning Initiative).

Jenny is a certified Awake in the Wild nature meditation teacher and convenes, facilitates and supports partners, often across multiple sectors. She lives on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lisjan and Muwekma Ohlone tribes, in what has been colonized as Berkeley, CA. In her free time, Jenny enjoys meditating in nature and exploring the outdoors with her husband and their two children, a proudly neurodivergent, gender neutral kiddo and enthusiastic hip hop dancing daughter.

Xiomara Batin (she/her)

Xiomara joined Inclusion Outdoors as a natural continuation of wanting to work in spaces that cultivate authentic engagement with various communities and reinforce that the healing powers of the outdoors is for everyone. She lives on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lisjan and Muwekma Ohlone tribes, in what has been colonized as Berkeley, CA. Growing up in this fantastic community gave her access to nature in a variety of incredible ways and reflected back to her that anyone and everyone should have access to these opportunities in whatever way that resonates with them. Xiomara has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and continued her studies to attain a Masters in SocioCultural Anthropology with a concentration in social justice and education. Xiomara has continued her studies and education through trainings, conferences, and workshops that increase her awareness and understanding of what equity in the outdoors can truly become. She has worked in a variety of educational institutions and non profit organizations, with a throughline of working with families, students, and community while putting equity and inclusion at the center.
